Webgate

Provides clean, bounded web search and page retrieval that strips HTML noise, caps token usage, and optionally summarizes results through a secondary LLM.

Webgate sits between an AI client and the web, delivering clean and context-efficient web content. It fetches pages, strips menus, ads, scripts, and boilerplate using surgical HTML parsing, then applies hard character caps to prevent context window overflow. Results are BM25-reranked, and an optional LLM summarization pass produces compact Markdown reports with citations. It supports multiple search backends including SearXNG, Brave, Tavily, Exa, and SerpAPI, and works across Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCode, Zed, and CLI agents.
