AIDE manages .aide specification files that exist alongside code, enabling developers to document architectural intent, research findings, and validation criteria in a structured format that AI agents can understand. The server provides tools for discovering spec files across a project, reading and validating specifications, creating new specs with automatic naming conventions, and inspecting code symbols. It integrates with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, and Windsurf.
