Prerequisites

Python 3, VisiData, tabular data files

Installation

Use the upstream install or setup path that matches your environment:

• pipx run visidata # or: uvx visidata
• pipx install visidata # or: uv tool install visidata
• pipx install visidata --preinstall openpyxl --preinstall lxml
• pipx inject visidata openpyxl lxml

Requirements and caveats from upstream:

• Python 3.8+
• additional Python modules are required for certain formats and sources
• Additional Python packages are needed for some formats:

Basic usage or getting-started notes:
