Postgres MCP Pro Server for Database Analysis and Tuning

Postgres MCP Pro is an open-source MCP server that provides AI agents with PostgreSQL database health analysis, index tuning recommendations, query plan optimization, schema intelligence, and safe SQL execution with configurable access controls.

Installation

Use the upstream install or setup path that matches your environment:

• The choice to use Docker or Python is yours.
• docker pull crystaldba/postgres-mcp
• pipx install postgres-mcp
• uv pip install postgres-mcp

Requirements and caveats from upstream:

• Docker or Python 3.12 or higher.

• Docker or Python

• We generally recommend Docker because Python users can encounter more environment-specific issues.
