Gemini Researcher is a stateless MCP server that lets AI development agents like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot delegate deep codebase analysis to Google's Gemini CLI. Instead of copying entire files into the primary agent's context window, research queries are proxied to Gemini which analyzes files locally, significantly reducing token consumption and keeping agents focused. The server supports multiple client platforms and includes Docker deployment options. Built on the premise that Gemini's generous free tier can handle heavy analysis work that would otherwise burn through the main model's quota.
